Jet pilot enjoys free time at full throttle (with video & photo gallery)
Staley’s idea of cruising is flying his customized L-39 Albatros, a Czech-made Russian attack jet capable of speeds approaching 600 miles per hour and able to withstand eight positive Gs and four negative Gs.
He swears though that the most he’s pushed is 5 Gs, which is still enough to make most nonpilots pass out.
“It hurts the whole body; let the young fighter pilots do that,” said Staley.
“Riding in a jet is like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, and now that I’ve gotten used to it, my favorite thing to do when I’ve got someone up there is fly fast in a straight line and turn hard at 90 degrees.”
Barrett Jackson Las Vegas magician Criss Angel brings cars and motorcycles from his ‘Mindfreak’ TV show to Mandalay Bay collector-car auction
Master magician Criss Angel plans to make seven cars and motorcycles disappear at the Barrett-Jackson collector-car auction in Las Vegas. Well, not disappear in his usual manner (Poof! in a cloud of smoke) but sold to the highest bidders and gone from his car collection.
Angel, one of the mainstays of the Vegas entertainment scene as well as an enduring television personality, is selling a group of cars – one owned by his brother, JD – and motorcycles that have each had a starring role in his Criss Angel Mindfreak TV show as well as serving as display pieces at the major casinos on the strip, plus other shows and special appearances.
